BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

Individuals at this level use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters.

They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex problems.

Course Credit
Students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge, and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in our International Student Handbook, which is available at www.tkl.edu.au
For international students, the granting of course credit may affect course fees as well as the duration of the course. The result of an application for credit and any changes to fees or course duration will be advised to students in writing.

Delivery Mode:

• This course will be delivered 20 hours a week using both online and face-to-face learning environments.
• Face-to-face learning is a classroom-based setting that includes the simulation of the workplace-based environment while the Online learning component is 1/3 of the course which is delivered via an LMS. Students will be able to use the LMS by logging into it with their username and password.

 

Students who completed this course may be able to seek employment in a range of business management roles such as:

• Manager

Education Pathways
Students who complete this course may wish to continue their education to higher education qualifications in leadership and management.

Must Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions) or have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.

Prior to Enrolment
Must be at least 18 years of age and have completed at least senior high school year 12 or equivalent.

Academic Requirements:

• Domestic Applicants: Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent.
• International Applicants: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have completed the equivalent of Year 12

English Requirements:

• An IELTS score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 or equivalent.
• English language competence can also be demonstrated through any of the following:
• Completion of a Certificate III or at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course or above in an Australian college.
• ELICOS Upper-Intermediate level or Above from approved ELICOS Provider.
• English Placement Test (EPT).
• Other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL are accepted. Students must provide their results to confirm they are equivalent to IELTS 6.0.

Note: International students who do not meet the English language requirements for this course may undertake an English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS).

For Packaged courses, the student cannot progress to the higher qualification unless the student has (successfully) completed the lower qualification.

The BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management requires the successful completion of 10 Units that includes, Five (5) Core and (5) Five elective units.Units have been selected in accordance with the packaging rules and are relevant to the work outcome, local industry requirements and qualification level.

• This qualification will be delivered over 52 weeks, including 40 weeks of training and assessment spread over 4 terms of 10 weeks and 12 weeks of holidays.

Additional Information
Course fees do not include computer software or textbooks, which must be purchased at the student's own cost.
Non-payment of course fees may result in the cancellation of enrolment.

• A combination of essays, report writing, projects, portfolios, observations, presentations, and questioning (oral or written).
• Note that for international students satisfactory course progress is required to meet visa requirements. More information can be found in the International Student Handbook.

Upon acceptance of a student's application for enrolment, a letter of offer, as well as a written agreement and tax invoice for the remaining fees, will be forwarded to students. Students must read through all the provided information as it will provide all the necessary information about the course of study. A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) letter will be issued once the signed acceptance of the offer, written agreement and payments are received.
Orientation class will be held one week before the commencement of the course. The orientation class will include information about the campus, living in Australia, accessing our support services and methods for achieving success throughout the course, including course progress requirements.
