English Language Support

For students who do not yet meet the English entry requirements for TKL College, we recommend enrolling in an English language course. Even if you meet the requirements, taking an English for Academic Purposes course can enhance your academic skills and build confidence before starting your vocational education and training (VET) studies.

Package Your Qualifications with TKL English Courses

Need to improve your English to meet our entry requirements?
Want to boost your academic skills and confidence before your course commences?

Package your TKL VET course with an English for Academic Purposes course at TKL College!

  • Seamless Transition: Move easily from your English language course to your VET course at TKL College.
  • Multiple Campuses: Study at any of our campuses in Sydney, Melbourne, or Parramatta.

Get the Academic and Communication Skills You Need

Our courses focusing on academic skills will help students prepare for vocational education.

  • Unique Learning System: Benefit from targeted practice and individual feedback, both online and offline.
  • Relevant Learning: Learn quickly with current topics that suit your learning needs.

Orientation

Welcome to TKL College!

As a new student, we want to ensure you feel warmly welcomed into the TKL family. Orientation is held two weeks before the start of classes in your first term* and provides a great opportunity to meet key staff members and your new peers. You'll also receive important information about your studies, campus facilities, and support services to ensure you have the best possible start to your educational journey.

Orientation Schedule
It includes several interactive and essential online sessions to set you up for success and provides an opportunity to visit the campus, meet key staff and fellow students, have your questions answered, and pick up your TKL welcome pack.

What to Bring
It is essential to submit all necessary documents before Orientation starts. If you do not, you will not be able to enroll in your subjects for the term. If you have not submitted your documents, please ensure you bring the following to campus:

  • Offer of Admission: If you have a Conditional Offer of Admission, bring evidence (e.g., your transcript) to show that you meet the conditions listed on your offer letter.

  • Academic Transcript: If you wish to apply for credit from previous learning (RPL), bring your academic transcript.

  • Passport: This applies to both domestic and international students.

  • Visa: International students must bring a copy of their visa.

During Orientation
Here's what you can expect during Orientation:

  • A course-relevant orientation designed for your success.

  • Interactive sessions and activities focused on student experience, academic success, and career support.

  • Opportunities to meet TKL staff, your new peers, and our current Student Ambassadors.

  • Receive a goodie bag with free TKL merchandise.

  • Information about your course and assistance with enrolling in your first subjects.

Payment and Evidence of Funds
The deadline for paying your subject fees for the first term is the Friday before Orientation. Ensure you have paid your full term fees, as you will not be able to enroll in subjects otherwise. International students must demonstrate and/or declare genuine access to sufficient funds to be granted a student visa.

Applicants may need to demonstrate sufficient funds to cover expenses for the first one or two years in Australia, depending on their assessment level. This ensures students can make the most of their studies and have a safe and enjoyable experience in Australia. Funds should cover travel, tuition, costs of any dependents, and living expenses.

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
For international students, it is a condition of an Australian student visa to obtain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). TKL College uses Bupa as its preferred provider. Refer to the Bupa website for information on prices. TKL College campuses are centrally located in capital cities with access to health centers and hospitals nearby. We will direct students to appropriate clinics if needed.
