TKL College is a provider of vocational education and training (or VET as it is commonly known). The VET sector in Australia is based on a partnership between governments and industry. Students can apply for course credit based on their previous studies at TKL or any other educational institution in Australia or overseas in accordance with TKL’s Course Credit and Articulation Policy & Procedure.
Step 4: Offer of Admission
We will process your application and if you’re successful we will email you:

You will need to read and sign your Enrolment Agreement (all pages).
Step 5: Pay Your Tuition Fees
Your fees will be outlined in your Letter of Offer. You can pay by one of several methods. See Fees and How to Pay.

Step 6: Enrolment Confirmation
Once your payment has been processed or you confirm application for government funding you will receive a confirmation notification or a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
Deferment
Students wishing to defer their course start need to apply in writing following TKL College Policies and Procedures. TKL College will hold all prepaid tuition fees in trust without penalty until the student enrolls in the course.
International Students who have been issued with a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from TKL College and hold a valid student visa can defer the start of their proposed course of study once only due to compassionate and compelling circumstances. These include not meeting an entry requirement through unsuccessful progression in, or completion of, a packaged pathway of course(s) or illness supported by acceptable documentation evidencing an inability to study. The deferment can only be granted for up to one trimester (Higher Education) or 6 months (VET).
International Students who have been issued with a CoE from TKL College and do not hold a valid student visa will have each deferment case assessed to ensure their circumstances still meet the Genuine Student requirements at the time. In this case, deferment may be granted for up to 1 year.

Application Process and Timeframes
Eligible applicants will receive an Offer of Admission – Student Enrolment Agreement via email. The Offer of Admission will be valid for 4 months from the date of issue.
No offer of admission will be made for a course start date more than one (1) year from the application date, except for students applying through an approved packaged pathway of enabling courses to meet entry requirements.
International applicants in Australia or current Australian student visa holders will not be offered admission for a course start date more than 6 months in advance, except for students applying through an approved packaged pathway of enabling courses to meet entry requirements.
No verbal offers of admission are made or accepted as they are not formal and not binding.

Course Credit Transfer
Course Credit Transfer is the recognition of learning achieved through formal education and training. Under the Standards for Registered Training Organisations, qualifications and statements of attainment issued by any RTO are to be accepted and recognised by all other RTOs. Credit transfer allows the unit of competency previously achieved by a student to be recognised when they are enrolling in a related course, where those units can assist them in meeting the requirements for a qualification. It is important to note that credit transfer is not recognition of prior learning (RPL). RPL is assessment and is addressed within the Recognition policy.
Students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in our Student Handbook.
For international students, the granting of course credit may affect their course fees as well as the duration of the course.
The result of the application for the credit and any changes to fees or course duration will be advised to students in writing.
If course credit is granted following the issuance of the Confirmation of Enrolment, students will receive a new Confirmation of Enrolment showing a reduced course duration.
Credit Transfer Guidelines
The following guidelines are to be followed when an application for credit transfer is received:
Any student is entitled to apply for credit transfer in a course or qualification in which they are currently enrolled.
Students may not apply for credit transfer for units of competency or qualification which are not included in our scope of registration.
The student does not incur any fees for credit transfer and we do not receive any funding when credit transfer is granted.
Credit transfer may only be awarded for whole units of competency. Where a mapping guide identifies a partial credit, this will not be considered for credit transfer and the applicant will be advised to seek RPL.
Credit transfer will only be issued when the student�s enrolment includes at least one other unit of competency for which the student is participating in training or is seeking recognition. Student may not enrol only for credit transfer.
The recognition of a unit of competency under a credit transfer arrangement is not contingent on the applicant demonstrating their currency. If the unit has been previously awarded and equivalence can be demonstrated then the unit can be recognised. The currency of the applicant is not a factor to be considered.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
In accordance with the requirements of the VET Quality Framework, TKL College provides the opportunity for students to apply to have prior learning, skills and knowledge recognised, and counted in relation to the qualification or units of competence for which they are enrolled.
What is recognition?
Recognition involves the assessment of previously unrecognised skills and knowledge that an individual has achieved outside the formal education and training system. The recognition process assesses the existing skills and knowledge against the requirements of a unit of competence, in respect of both entry requirements and outcomes to be achieved. By removing the need for duplication of learning, recognition encourages an individual to continue upgrading their skills and knowledge through structured education and training towards formal qualifications and improved employment outcomes. This has benefits for the individual and industry. Most importantly, it should be noted that recognition is just another form of assessment.

The following guidelines are to be followed when an application for recognition is received:
Any student is entitled to apply for recognition in a course or qualification in which they are currently enrolled.
Students may not apply for recognition for units of competency or qualification which are not included in TKL College� scope of registration.
Students who have previously failed a module/competency will not be considered for RPL unless their application is supported by further documentation.
Students who are currently enrolled in a training program are eligible to apply for recognition in that program at no additional charge.
Assessment via recognition is to apply the principles of assessment and the rules of evidence.
Recognition may only be awarded for whole units of competency.

This scholarship is for international students commencing a full-time course. Applicants must have a good academic record.
Benefit: Reduction in tuition fees for the duration of the course. Each application will be assessed individually and the final decision will be made by the CEO.

A: The Orientation Week is a week full of events and sessions that introduces you to the campus, allows meeting fellow students, and provides you with essential details about your studies and support services.

A: Yes, your attendance at Orientation Week is highly recommended so that you get off to a good start.
Q: How do I get my student ID card?

Q: When should I pay the fees?
A: Fees are payable before the start of term. Refer to the due dates advised on your enrolment documents and also on the student portal.
Q: Can I pay my fees in installments?
A: Yes, you can. TKL's Student Finance will help you set up a plan. Please contact our Student Finance DPS for more details. What happens if I can't pay by the due date? If you can't pay your fees by the due date, you should get in touch with your department as soon as you can so further options can be considered without incurring penalties.
Q: What is a USI?
A: A Unique Student Identifier, or USI, is an identifying number that, within the confines and terms of changing in an online, controlled environment, safely allows your Nationally Recognised training or qualification you earned and keep it secure.
Q: Is my feedback on the teaching and other aspects of my experience at held TKL really used?
A: Yes, the feedback is highly valued and very much put to use in continuously improving the overall learner experience strewn out at TKL. Avenues for collecting feedback from the students include surveys, forums, and suggestion boxes.
Q: Is there a counsellor at TKL for students?
A: Yes, we have student counsellors on appointment.
Q: Does TKL provide career services?
A: Yes. The TKL offers services that can help with your job searches, resume writing, and interview preps.
Studying
Q: Where can I get help with academic skills?
A: Our Academic Success Centre provides workshops, one-on-one coaching, and online resources.
Q: What if I can't hand in an assignment by the due date?
A: Then write to let your lecturer know the reasons for the circumstances of your case and, subject to reason, request an extension of time.
Q: How can I apply for a review of the grade I was awarded?
A: To request a review of a grade, you need to apply through the student portal. Further instruction and timelines are provided in the section on Academic Policies.
Q: What if I commit Academic Misconduct?
A: Academic misconduct is treated seriously at TKL. The consequences may vary from caution to failure in that assessment or more severe if the misconduct is of such a severe seriousness.
Q: Can I withdraw myself from my studies?
A: Yes you can, by applying for leave of absence. You must communicate with the Student Services for their request procedures and also clarification if you are eligible
Q: How long can I stay in Australia on my student visa after my course is finished?
A: You can stay in Australia on your student visa until it expires. You must apply for another type of visa if you wish to stay longer. You should contact the Department of Home Affairs for further information.
Q: What happens after graduation?
A: Provided you are eligible, you may apply for the post-study work visa, search for work opportunities, or simply pursue further studies. TKL's Career Services will assist in your job search and application.
