FNS50222 Diploma of Accounting

This qualification reflects professional accounting job roles in financial services and other industries, including tax agents, accounts payable and accounts receivable officers, payroll service providers, and employees performing a range of accounting tasks for organisations in a range of industries. Individuals in these roles apply solutions to a range of often complex problems and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They apply the initiative to plan, coordinate, and evaluate their own work and provide guidance to others within defined guidelines.

Course Credit
Students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge, and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in our International Student Handbook, which is available at www.tkl.edu.au
For international students, the granting of course credit may affect course fees as well as the duration of the course. The result of an application for credit and any changes to fees or course duration will be advised to students in writing.

Delivery Mode:

• This course will be delivered 20 hours a week using both online and face-to-face learning environments.
• Face-to-face learning is a classroom-based setting that includes the simulation of the workplace-based environment while the Online learning component is 1/3 of the course which is delivered via an LMS. Students will be able to use the LMS by logging into it with their own username and password.

Education Pathways
Students who completed this course may wish to further their study and enrol into the FNS60217 Advanced Diploma of Accounting or a range of Advanced Diploma qualifications.

Completion of the FNSSS00014 Accounting Principles Skill Set or Completion of FNS40222 Certificate IV in Accounting or equivalent is required for this course

Prior to Enrolment
Must be at least 18 years of age and have completed at least senior high school year 12 or equivalent.

Academic Requirements:

• Domestic Applicants: Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent.
• International Applicants: Please refer to offshore requirements or contact your regional manager for detailed information.

English Requirements:

• An IELTS score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 or equivalent.
• English language competence can also be demonstrated through any of the following:
• Completion of a Certificate III or at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course or above in an Australian college.
• ELICOS Upper-Intermediate level.
• English Placement Test (EPT).
• Other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL are accepted. Students must provide their results to confirm they are equivalent to IELTS 6.0.

Note: International students who do not meet the English language requirements for this course may undertake an English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS).

For Packaged courses, the student cannot progress to the higher qualification unless the student has (successfully) completed the lower qualification.

The FNS50222 Diploma of Accounting requires the successful completion of seven (7) core units and four (4) elective units. Electives for this qualification have been chosen by TKL College to ensure that students achieve a broad range of skills and knowledge in accounting.

The Training Package requires that students must have completed one of the following qualifications or their equivalent:

• Completion of the FNSSS00014 Accounting Principles Skill Set; or
• Completion of FNS40615 Certificate IV in Accounting or equivalent or
• Completion of FNS40215 Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or equivalent.

• This qualification will be delivered over 52 weeks, including 40 weeks of training and assessment spread over 4 terms of 10 weeks and 12 weeks of holidays. The holidays are 3 weeks per term.

Additional Information
Course fees do not include computer software or textbooks, which must be purchased at the student's own cost.
Non-payment of course fees may result in the cancellation of enrolment.

• A combination of essays, report writing, projects, portfolios, observations, presentations, and questioning (oral or written).

Upon acceptance of a student's application for enrolment, a letter of offer, as well as a written agreement and tax invoice for the remaining fees, will be forwarded to students. Students must read through all the provided information as it will provide all the necessary information about the course of study. A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) letter will be issued once the signed acceptance of the offer, written agreement and payments are received.
Orientation class will be held one week before the commencement of the course. The orientation class will include information about the campus, living in Australia, accessing our support services and methods for achieving success throughout the course, including course progress requirements.
