As an international student, you are required to have an Overseas Student Health Cover for the duration of your study in Australia. Bupa is TKL College’s chosen OSHC provider. When students receive an offer to study at TKL College, students have the option to ask Kent Institute to organise OSHC through Bupa. This means:
- You have paid the full amount of tuition and OSHC fees due to TKL College. We will advise Bupa to arrange your cover; and
- Bupa then registers you as a member and issues a membership card. This will be sent to your address in Australia. If you do not have a postal address in Australia, your card will be sent to TKL College.
If you do not wish to use Bupa, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have OSHC that is current, and for the duration of your student visa.
What does Bupa cover?
Bupa offers cover for a range of services. Some are:
- The cost of medical treatments in and out of hospital
- Bupa Direct Billing Doctors which reduce out pocket expenses (a Direct Billing Doctor is a Doctor who agrees to send the claim direct to Bupa to be processed. Present your Bupa membership card and photo identification at the time of your consultation).
- A 24-hour advice line

myBupa
Register and log in to myBupa using your Bupa membership number. Please check your BUPA verification letter for your membership details. You can use myBupa to make claims, order a new card, get a digital card (Android only), and access member-exclusive discounts and benefits.
How to claim?
All claims for Bupa can be either made either online or by visiting a Bupa Centre. If you are claiming for any hospital admission or medical consultations within the first 12 months of membership, you will need to complete a Medical Certificate.
